Finnish Nurses Association

The work done by nurses is vital to the well-being of society. Nurses meet a broad spectrum of population in their everyday work.

The Finnish Nurses Association is closely involved in developing training, nursing care and working conditions as well as acting as an expert and collaborative body with decision-makers. The Finnish Nurses Association also produces background information and analyses in support of the financial interests of its members. It does this, for example, by raising the visibility of the work done by nurses, stating its opinion on pertinent issues, and working alongside other organizations and decision-makers to develop the nursing profession and to influence legislation. Membership of the Finnish Nurses Association is voluntary.

In addition to membership of the Finnish Nurses Association, the association’s members may choose the trade organization that best represents their economic interests. Many nurses belong to the Union of Health and Social Care Professionals (Tehy ry), the largest cooperative partner of which is the Finnish Nurses Association.

The Finnish Nurses Association (FNA) offers global learning and networking opportunities for nurses through its Congress Academy.

The FNA Congress Academy co-operates with respected organizations covering various fields in nursing. It aims to promote evidence based nursing thorough intercultular learning and networking
